Risk Strategies
Jeff Ice has a passion for logistics, despite never having delivered a package or hired a dispatcher. He has been involved in the insurance industry for over 30 years and has made it his business to learn all he can about the carrier business. Jeff was recently inducted into the CLDA Hall of Fame, the first non-delivery person to receive the award. His contributions to the industry have been significant, and he has been a voice of reason, a friend, and a mentor to many. Jeff’s interest in logistics began in 1988, after being invited to play golf by his CPA. He met the owner of Quicksilver Messenger, who asked him if he did commercial auto insurance. Jeff visited several courier companies around the country to gain a better understanding of the industry. He started creating policies customized to the industry and educating insurance underwriters about the courier sector. Jeff left his job at the James B. Oswald Company and founded KIK Insurance in 1998, which later merged with KBS International to form Brightstone Insurance. The company was eventually purchased by Risk Strategies in 2017. Jeff retired in March 2021 but continues to consult part-time for Risk Strategies Transportation Practice.
