We are pleased to announce the slate of nominees for the CLDA 2023 Board of Directors Election. The Board of Directors, as the governing body of CLDA, represents the membership and is entrusted with the authority to establish policy for the governance of the Association. Board policy establishes the parameters and guidelines for Board members, committees, management, staff as well as the general membership.
There are 14 elected Board members, plus the Immediate Past President, whose terms run for two years. Voting takes place electronically with the winning candidates subsequently announced to the membership. Per CLDA Bylaws, mail-in votes are not accepted. Voting is by company, not by individual and each Carrier Member company is entitled to one (1) vote.
There are six positions open on the Board of Directors. Bios of the candidates running to fill these positions are listed below. Voting will close on Thursday, December 18, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Noah Alvarez, CEO, Alvy Delivers
Noah Alvarez is the CEO at Alvy Delivers, a transportation company based in Southern California
Noah takes pride in his company and provides the best service possible for his clients. Noah works beside his team daily to head the sales and operations. Noah believes in a hands on approach, leading by example, displaying hard work, and dedication. Mr Alvarez views himself as a true service provider, and will do anything to satisfy his clients. Noah strives to be a three dimensional leader. He creates a fun and loving atmosphere while maintaining integrity and seriousness. Noah has fallen in love with the transportation industry, and has found great enjoyment and appreciation in leading his team. The CLDA has played a huge role in developing Alvy Delivers, and Noah will always do whatever he can to help the CLDA grow and maintain their industry leading status.
Al Baptiste, President and CEO, 24/7 Enterprises, LLC
Al Jean-Baptiste is the President and CEO of 24/7 Enterprises, LLC. He has been in the industry for over 23 years and believes he
would be an asset to the Customized Logistics and Delivery Association (CLDA) in any way necessary to move the mission further. He
is also very passionate about what he does and fully commits to anything he signs up for. Al has been a long-time member of the
CLDA and two years active in the Executive Leader Summit (ELS) committee, now Final Mile Focus (FMF). He hopes to continue to
serve at this level and would appreciate your support.
When he is not busy managing his business, he is passionate about running, playing golf, spending time with his wife and kids, and
helping those in need. He firmly believes his mission is to help others succeed, as we can’t do it alone. He also makes regular
donations to nonprofits, assisting Meals on Wheels by delivering meals to the elderly, and has volunteered for over 20 years at the
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Harold Boyett, President and CEO, Blue Streak Couriers
Harold Boyett is president and CEO of Blue Streak Couriers. Harold began his career in transportation at the age of 18, working part time at UPS while attending college. He graduated from the University of North Florida in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree, double majoring in the fields of management and marketing. While working full time at UPS, he continued his education and obtained his master’s degree from UNF in 1998. Harold’s 20-year career at UPS encompassed operational and business development responsibilities where he rose to the level of Southeast Region Sales Training Manager.
Harold left UPS in 2005 to follow his dream of business ownership and purchased Blue Streak. The company has grown and expanded under his leadership and operates throughout Florida and Georgia as well as portions of several other states. Blue Streak is a member of the Customized Logistics and Delivery Association, Express Carriers Association, and Florida Messenger Association, where he served as president and served on the board of directors.
Several awards are testament to the success of the company. Blue Streak was included on Jacksonville Business Journal’s list of the 50 Fastest Growing Private Companies for several years in a row. In addition, Blue Streak was a recipient of GrowFL’s Florida Companies to Watch award in its inaugural year. Blue Streak is currently featured on the U.S. Small Business Administration website as one of 100 small businesses that have hired at least 100 people since first obtaining assistance from the Small Business Development Center. In 2006, Harold was named as one of Jacksonville’s Top 40 Under 40 by the Jacksonville Business Journal.
Blue Streak supports several charities, including Dreams Come True, American Heart Association, and The Pulse, an organization targeting underprivileged, at-risk children. Harold is a frequent guest speaker in entrepreneurship classes held at UNF’s Coggin College of Business, telling aspiring entrepreneurs about the opportunities, challenges, and rewards he has experienced. He has also served as chairman of the advisory council for the Small Business Development Center at UNF. In 2012, Mr. Boyett participated as a panelist at the Small-Business Leadership Forum, sponsored by Jeff Atwater, CFO for the state of Florida.
Andrew Brady, Founder, King Courier Current Board of Director
I started out at Boston Bike Messenger in 1983, I moved to San Francisco in 1990 and founded King Courier in 1992. Elected to the
California Delivery Association (CDA) Board in 2006, and I’ve served continuously to this day. I held the presidency from 2009-2011
and 2019-2022, the only two-time CDA President. In 2023, I was appointed to the CLDA Board of Directors, to finish out the term of a
vacated seat. My aim is to continue contributing to the delivery industry’s progress and defending it against government interference. I
ask for your vote as I seek to continue this mission. Thank you for your support.
Jesse Cervone, President, OTD
The third-generation President of OTD Florida, Jesse Cervone, embarked on a journey nearly a decade ago, starting from the
warehouse to delivering routes, dispatch, and customer service. With a diverse skill set acquired from wearing every hat within the
company, this individual brings a wealth of experience. Jesse’s impactful time on the FMA board demonstrates a commitment to
industry growth, now poised to channel that dedication into the CLDA’s board. Outside the logistics realm, coaching lacrosse at their
old high school reflects a passion for community. An avid home cook and foodie, Jesse continually practices his craft while trying to
work on his golf game too.
Mark Collins, CEO, American Dedicated Logistics
I organized my first delivery route in 1985 at the age of 14 using delivery tickets and book of maps. I spent two years doing this for my
father, a courier in Boston. From 1987 to the mid-1990s I was a courier myself before starting Collins Delivery System. I took a job
with Boise Office Solutions in 2003. From there I did 6 years of route engineering and management of DHL stations, 3 years as a
regional manager for Diligent, and started American Dedicated Logistics in 2012. I have a unique perspective of dedicated and
coloaded last mile and an immersive perspective on the role of the Independent Contractor.
Roslyn Ellerbee, Founder and CEO
A trailblazing entrepreneur, Roslyn Ellerbee stands as a logistics and supply chain maven, notably shaping the industry through her visionary leadership. 2012, she founded Express Errands & Courier to revolutionize the delivery landscape. Originating in Jacksonville, NC, and swiftly growing to serve 10+ states, it serves various industries, from medical to entertainment.
Ellerbee’s strategic prowess and commitment to efficiency have propelled the company to unparalleled success within the logistics sector. Her keen understanding of supply chain dynamics and innovative approaches have solidified Express Errands & Courier as a powerhouse. Recognized for her transformative impact, Ellerbee exemplifies a dynamic force in logistics, seamlessly blending innovation and strategic excellence, making an enduring mark on the ever-evolving supply chain world.
She is a recent graduate of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council’s (WBENC) Executive Leadership Capstone Program in partnership with IBM. She has been a proud Customized Logistics and Delivery Association member and serves on the membership committee as an ambassador to help companies optimize their membership experience.
Thomas Jowers, President, ADL Final Mile Current Board of Director
Thomas has served proudly on the board for 10+ years and has served on multiple committees. Most notably as the chair for CLDA
Cares Committee, the Vendor Committee, and most recently the FMF Committe for the last 4 years. He is dedicated to the success
of the CLDA and will continue to do so for years to come if allowed to continue to serve!
Eddie Pillow, President, Pillow Express Logistics Current Board of Director
Mr. G. Eddie Pillow is Chief Executive Officer of Pillow Express Logistics. Pillow Logistics provides same day final mile delivery medical, retail, and e-commerce clients. Pillow Logistics is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana with regional offices in Louisville, KY and Evansville, IN (April 2023).
Pillow Express Logistics will celebrate 35 years in business in March 2023, Mr. Eddie Pillow is the 2nd generation leader of this organization. Mr. Pillow holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University and a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Hampton University.
Mr. Pillow is a board member of the Customized Logistics Delivery Association, past member of Rotary International, the Indianapolis Chamber, WFYI Public Radio, and Child Advocates.
Brian Surber, COO, Priority Dispatch, Inc. Current Board of Director
Brian embarked on a career in transportation several decades ago with DHL. As a legacy Airborne Express operator in the domestic market, he quicky worked his way through the ranks to Station Services Manager of one of the largest unionized operations in the country.
Post the merger with DHL and the successful execution of the NMFA with the Teamsters, Brian welcomed the opportunity to transition to the final mile space with another legacy Airborne Express executive at Direct Supply Chain Services. As Senior Vice President, he was accountable for the overall leadership, direction, production, and positioning of a same day urgent transportation provider acting as a liaison to the following niches in the transportation industry: IAC (Indirect Air Carriers), air express, global freight forwarding, LTL, truckload, and expedited freight. Responsibilities included but were not limited to the following: Overall service quality of a 24/7 operation, staffing and HR functions, profit and loss, safety and security initiatives as defined by the TSA, FAA, DOT and OSHA, technology management/improvement/data security, support and management of external vendor relationships, resource allocation and management, production of sales team, market positioning/branding, and direction of business development initiatives.
Today Brian is known as a leader in the final mile space, having been employed in and actively involved with the Customized Logistics and Delivery Association (CLDA), previously the MCAA, for nearly two decades. Brian has proudly served Priority Dispatch, Inc. for much of his final mile career. Today he holds the role of Chief Operations Officer. During this time, Brian has had the opportunity to
contribute to the CLDA as a Committee Member, Panelist, Presenter, Moderator and Advocacy Supporter. Not to mention being published numerous times in miscellaneous trade publications supporting the final mile space.
In 2021 Brian was elected to the CLDA Board of Directors by his peers and has faithfully served our trade association since. Some of his key responsibilities and roles include Executive Leadership Summit Committee Chair, Sponsorship Committee Chair, Final Mile Forum Committee Member, Education Committee Member, Magazine Committee Member and Nominations Committee Member. These various roles and responsibilities have allowed him to give back to the space he loves while continuing to grow and mature both personally and professionally. It is with high regard and humility Brian seeks re-election to the CLDA Board of Directors.
